Maritime Youth Day 2014

Dear Scouts,

The Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) and the Singapore Maritime Academy, Singapore Polytechnic (SMA-SP) are organising the Maritime Youth Day 2014, a one-day programme, on Thursday, 26 June 2014.

The event is organised to mark the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Day of the Seafarer which is celebrated world-wide on 25 June 2014.This is a great opportunity for every member of SSA to have a first-hand experience in understanding what the vibrant maritime and shipping industry is all about in a fun, dynamic and challenging manner.  Through this event, the organiser hope that you would gain a better appreciation of how the maritime industry underpins Singapore’s economy and be open to the diverse career and education opportunities that are available.

The programme would kick-off with a boat trip to an adventure-filled island. During the day-long programme your physical skills both on land and in the water, and your intellectual skills on all things maritime would be tested. This is the first time that the Scouts from the various schools would compete with one another in a maritime challenge.

Registration is now open to all scouts from Secondary 3 – Secondary 5. Each team should consist of eight or ten students to challenge for the prestigious MYD Challenge Trophy. You are encouraged to participate in this thrilling Maritime Youth Day. The Maritime Youth Day would leave you with a very unique and memorable experience.

Interested scouts should form up their own teams (8 -10 pax per team). Group leader of each team will need to collate the names + IC Numbers of their team, and pass these details to Mr Johnson Sim. Limited spaces available, so do confirm ASAP to avoid disappointment!

Please visit this website for more info.

Regards,
Mr Johnson Sim
