Inter Patrol Badge Design Competition

Greeting Scouts,

From the artistic creativity you guys showed us when designing this year's campfire art, it has inspired us to seek out even more talent from within the Unit!

As such, in anticipation for our upcoming campfire, the Rovers would like to invite the Unit to participate in a mini Inter-Patrol Badge Design Competition!


The competition is only open to Sec 1-4 Crux Scouts currently in a patrol.
The entry should be the sole original work of the patrol and there should be no external assistance rendered by anyone else.
Participants must execute the design on a shaped background.
Participants have the freedom to create an original composition based on their selected theme. They are encouraged to demonstrate basic drawing/design skills and some aspects of imaginative elements in their entries.
Only ONE submission per patrol is accepted. (Patrol Leader to submit finalized design)

The judging panel will comprise of a selected mix of Rovers & Ventures and will judge based on the following criteria:

The judges’ decision is final.
Winners will be announced on the next formal meeting

The top submissions of each category will be made into Campfire Event Badges / Keychains to be distributed during the event.

Top 3 entries will be rewarded accordingly ;);)

Training On 31/5

Greetings Scouts,

As part of our upcoming 60th annual anniversary campfire, there will be trainings during the June holidays to prepare for it. The first few trainings will be this Thursday and Friday. Please report outside the scout den *by 8.45 sharp*.

Attire: PT Kit(Crux shirt with PE pants)(Sec 1s will be Level PE shirt)

As this is our 60th Anniversary, do put in your best effort in all the trainings to make the campfire more memorable! Attendance is compulsory.

We understand that you may have travel plans so do inform us by either email or a letter so that you may be excused in that day.

In the form which you may or may not have gotten, it says that the campfire is on the 4th of July. The actual Campfire date is the 4th of August so do take note.

The Rovers would like to thank you for your time and patience in participating in our new appraisal initiative.  The feedback we've received from you has been plentiful and has given us new insights into the leadership / training you've been familiar with. Rest assured Staff-in-confidence will be maintained as we take the necessary follow-up steps into improving the system.

Training Feedback

The Rovers have recently come up with a survey in which you can use to highlight any concerns/grievances  regarding your training experience. The data gathered from these surveys will no doubt be essential in improving the quality of training in the future. Staff-in-Confidence will be exercised with regards to your responses so you can be assured of your anonymity. CCA Fair 2018 Preparations

East Area will be organising a campfire to celebrate our Scouts Founder's Day.

Scout Training Schedule for June Holidays

Dear Scouts,

The next major event for the scouts will be our Annual Campfire, which will be held on the 22nd July 2017. Our troop will be inviting scouts from other schools to our campfire, and your son / ward will be required to plan out a programme for them, and prepare the necessary logistics for the campfire. This is usually the time for the scouts to showcase their talents, and display the skills they have learnt during their scouting journey in St. Gabriel’s. 

The training sessions in June and July will be focused primarily on the preparation for the campfire. The sessions are mostly held in the afternoon, to facilitate the attendance of the venture / rover scouts who have graduated in previous years. Please refer to the table below for the list of scheduled trainings dates in June.

Cancellation of Scouts Training on 21st and 22nd of April 2017
