56th Jamboree On The Air & 17th Jamboree On The Internet

Dear all,

This year, the World Organisation of the Scout Movement will be hosting the 56th Jamboree On The Air & 17th Jamboree On The Internet will take place on 19 and 20 October 2013.  This year's theme:  “Let’s Share!”

JOTA / JOTI have been an annual event when Scouts and Guides all over the world make contact with each other by means of the Internet.  It is a real Jamboree during which Scouting experiences are exchanged and ideas are shared, thus contributing to the world brotherhood of Scouting.  It is a world-wide event mainly for Scouting groups in all youth programme sections, although members may participate individually.  First time participants might find useful information in JOTA-JOTI for Newbies.  Please refer to Annex A for more details.

The event will officially open 48 hours, from Saturday 00:00h until Sunday 24:00h local time. Activities for the two events are often conducted together.  Well over 500,000 people participate each year. Additional information is available on the JOTA / JOTI team'swebsite http://www.jotajoti2013.org/ . Follow the instructions accordingly. You have to create an account through the link given above before you can commence with your JOTI.

Here is the link to make your own Validation Card: http://www.jotajoti.org/community/

Participants will be awarded with an event badge and a Certificate of Participation.

All Southern Cross Scouts who are participating, you have a task to accomplish before being awarded the event badge. This is to create more value add to your participation in JOTI and it will benefit you and to the people around you in future.

Your mission:
1. To make as many friends as possible from overseas through JOTI.
2. To exchange contact via the following means (email, Facebook, twitter, blog, LINE, etc)
3. Make an exchange with the overseas contact that you made with (exchange badges, scarves, woggle, etc). If you can do an exchange with more than 1 overseas scout friend, that will be better.

Once you have accomplished this mission, you are to present to me during one of the scout meetings.

If there is any question, please feel free to contact me via sms. You can get my mobile number from the Patrol Leaders.

I wish you the best and have fun for your JOTI.
