World JOTI/JOTA 2010

Hello Scouts, there is an upcoming event called JOTI/JOTA 2010. For those who do not know what it is, it is called Jamboree on the Internet/Jamboree on the Air. This event is held annually all over the world to foster friendships through a free way using the internet. Some of the gadgets/applications used to meet Scouts from all over the World would be Skype, IRC, etc. Jamboree on the Air on the other hand, uses radio amateur tapping devices to tap in into radio waves to converse with Scouts all over the World. This event is fully supported by WOSM (World Organisation of the Scout Movement).

The JOTI 2010 will be held on the 16 and 17 of October 2010. Venue is at Games Haven and it is to be confirmed. We will be attending only on the 16th of October. On the 17th, if you guys want to meet more friends you can continue your participation on the event at home. You just have to download the application.

For this event, a badge and certificate will be awarded to participants for this event. I urge all of you to attend as it will be a wonderful experience for everyone. The beauty of Scouting is to promote friendship not only local, but overseas as well. More updates will be posted here on the blog. More details can be found on this link so as to give you a better understanding about the upcoming event. Thank you.

Campfire on the 9 September

Greetings.

There would be a campfire at Monfort Secondary on the 9 September. We would be meeting at the HDB block opposite school at 1730hrs and leaving at 1745hrs. This is an important campfire as Monfort is our brother school and furthermore our dance specialist would be performing a dance during the campfire. The attire will be full Scout uniform (beret is optional).

Do let your PLs know if you are heading to Monfort Secondary on your own on that day itself.

Thank you.

Meeting on the 3 September and Monfort Campfire on the 4 September

Greetings.

There will be a Scout meeting on the 3 September (Friday). It has been confirmed that this would by the last Scout meeting before the SA2 exams. The Exploration re-est will be conducted during this meeting. This meeting will be VERY important especially for the Sec2s as the PLs will be finishing off the criteria needed to get your Scout Standard during this meeting.

Things to bring:
-Full Scout uniform
-1.5L Sprite bottle
-Scout record book
-PT kit

Also, there will be a campfire on the 4 September (Saturday) at Monfort Secondary. This is an important campfire as Monfort is our brother school and our unit have close relations with the Monfort Knights Scout Unit. Their campfire is an biannual event and there I urge that all Scouts should go. We will be meeting at the HDB flat opposite school at 1730hrs. The attire will be full uniform.

Thank you and I wish you all good luck for your end-year exam.
