Badge Patch Carnival 2012

The Badge Patch Carnival (henceforth termed BPC) is a festive event in the event calendar of the Singapore Scout Movement. It is a time where Scouts from all over Singapore would gather to share their badges and scarves, two of the most distinguishable part of a Scout’s uniform. It is not only their pride and joy, but an important cultural heritage of our global Scout Movement: Wherever we are in the world, Scouts will always be recognizable by their scarves and badges. Furthermore, our badges and scarves have evolved to develop a unique Singaporean identity.

The Badge Patch Carnival is, at its heart, a carnival for cultural exchange. It will involve cub scouts, scouts, ventures, rovers and leaders from all over Singapore, and also international scouts. The highlight of the event is actually the exchanging of badges. There will be no monetary transactions involved. Within the carnival itself, there will be more activities.

It is scheduled on 28 & 29 July (We will be going on 28 July; You may want to revisit the carnival on 29 July) at The National Library - The Plaza. The carnival will be held throughout the day and Scouts are free to participate at any time between 9am to 6pm. To encourage active participation and promote enthusiasm in collecting badges, there will be five badges to form the full official event badge. The badges can be collected in two ways: either participating in games or competing in quizzes.

Each registered participant will be given an event badge. You can design your own badge to send your well wishes for Singapore's Birthday.

Do note that as you are fully subsidised for the event, failure to attend will result in you having to pay the event fee in the absence of a MC.
