Reasons for having two meetings during december holidays

To all Parents ,

This message is with respect to the previous post, concerning the upcoming Orientation Day preperation days which falls on the 27th and 28th of December, 2007, as well as on the 3rd and 4th of January, 2008.Attendence for all meetings stated are taken into account and if your child/ward is absent , a letter or a Medical Cerfiticate is required to be shown and given to the unit's secretary which would be kept and compiled, this procedure also applies to the unit's normal meetings and trainings. Failure to do so would increase the possiblility that your child/ward would get a "FAIR" conduct in his report book next year, as well as increasing the chances of being expelled from the unit. Meetings during the December holidays would require scouts to report to school at 8am and the meetings would end at 4pm. Lunch would be provided. However if the task are completed earlier than expected, the scouts would be dismissed early. Scouts need not come for all of the stated dates if the work that is required to be done is completed earlier. We would notify you via your child/ward if there is no meeting on the stipulated dates.

Due to the time constraint, two of the preparation dates are to be held in the month of December and another two are to be held in the month of January as the Orientation Day would occur in the first week of January, on the 4th of January, 2008. Though it may seem long before the actual day itself, we have yet to complete many task that is essential in recruiting the new batch of secondary one scouts.I sincerly hope that permission would be granted to your child/ward to aid the unit in its preparation for Orientation Day.I apologise for the inconveniences caused by the meeting dates and I seek your co-oporation and understanding. Thank you.

Yours in scouting,
Probationary Ventures, Orientation Drive Committee 2008
