Training dates for Founder's Day Parade

Greetings Scouts

Below are the training dates and rehearsals for Founder's Day Parade.

4/2 Thursday: 7.30am-8.15am (PT kit)
11/2 Thursday: 7.30am-8.15am (PT kit)
12/2 Friday: 3pm-3.30pm (PT kit)

This is compulsory for all Scouts to attend unless a valid reason is given.

Greetings Scouts

There will be a formal meeting on this Friday from 2.30 to 6pm. Classroom 2E2 will be open at 1.40pm for you all to change to full u. All Scouts are to fall in in their full u by 1.55pm. Duty patrols will be Catfish and Kingfisher. Please bring your PT kit and water bottles along.

Scouts attending the SG50 International Jamboree, please note the following:

1) Assemble at our school foyer on 17th November (Tuesday) by 0930h.
2) Attire: Full Scouts Uniform
3) Refer to packing list, and start packing your bags this weekend.
(Collect your sleeping tents from the den on Tuesday)
4) Get your parents to sign the Indemnity Form, and pass it to Mr Sim on Tuesday.
5) You will be released from school at around 1700h on 22nd November (Sunday).
6) You can visit the Scout Shop (@ SSA HQ) to purchase some badges for exchange with other scouts at the Jamboree.

We are unable to visit Serangoon NPC today, due to certain clashes with scheduling which was only confirmed this morning.

We will carry on with our training today in school.

SSA Photo Competition

Dear All,

  

The Resource Team is organizing a Photo Competition for all members. 

 

With digital cameras and handphones, Scouts are able to capture the various activities they participate in and share them with friends on social media. This competition is to encourage Scouts to be creative and capture their own photos for sharing. 

Below are rules of the competition.  Entries can be submitted as individuals or as a scout group.

 

The rules of the competition are as follows:

 

1.       The theme of the photo competition is “Engaging, Exciting and Empowering”.
 

2.       Contestants are encouraged to use the SG50 Jamboree as an opportunity to take the photos. As an example, photos can show Scouts engaging with the communities(local as well as international), or showing Scouts participating in exciting activities, or displaying leadership skills on either of the above tagline.
 

3.       Images should be in jpeg format and be at least 3000px on the longest side.
 

4.       Contestants are allowed to used filters or perform post processing on the photos before submission.
 

5.       The scouts in the photo must be clearly identified as scouts and they should at least be wearing a scarf.
 

6.       Submissions are to be made via Facebook,  https://www.facebook.com/scoutsgphotocontest.
All photo submissions must be accompanied by a caption that is relevant to the theme.
 

7.       Contestants are encouraged to share the submission with friends and family to gather as many "Likes" as possible. 
 

8.       Contestants must own the copyright of the photo and obtain permission/model releases from persons in the photo.
 

9.       Contestants must keep the original photo in high resolution(at least 3000px on the longest side) and be prepared to hand over to the Resource Committee(SSA) upon request.
 

10.   By participating in this competition, contestants have agreed to allow The Singapore Scout Association(SSA) to use the photo in full or in part for promoting Scouting.
 

11.   SSA will not be liable for any damages or loss in the production of these photo.
 

12.   The closing date is 29 February 2016.
 

13.   Cash Prize:  First Prize - $500, Second Prize - $300, and Third Prize - $200, 10 consolation prizes - $50
 

14.   The Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
 

15.   The contest is opened to all registered members of SSA.
