Post HK Trip Tasks - Deadlines

To all Scouts who participated in the HK Cultural Exchange, the teachers and leaders hope you have had a fruitful and of course, enjoyable trip! :) Official Photos taken by AVSL Zhan Hao would be put on your ever favourite facebook on either my profile or his within these few days! So don't hesitate to tag one another! Don't forget to upload your albums as well!

Now.. as all of you would know, it's not over yet till all your assignments and tasks have been submitted.

So do take note of the following reasonable deadlines, which are to be adhered to STRICTLY. All late submissions will not be entertained. Always remember the 2nd night when you undertook the Scout Promise on your honour.

The sec 2s and 3s are to take charge of these (not only the Patrol Leaders for the trip):

01) Individual Reflections Write-Up (for your badge): All write-ups are to be completed and submitted to your Patrol Leader (in Microsoft Word Compatible Version Format) or a representative from your Patrols. The representative is to then send the files to my email - konglong167@hotmail.com - The documents are to be in my inbox by 20 November 2011 (Sunday) @ 2100hrs.

02) Patrol Hike Report (for your Advanced Scout Standard Exploration Component): As discussed to the PLs, all hike reports are to be sent to my inbox by 27 November 2011 (Sunday) @ 2100hrs. Do not forget to include the photos!

03) Patrol Journal and Hike Map Making: Also briefed to you guys already; all journals and maps are to be submitted to me physically (by PL or representative) by the end of this month

So a total of 4 things to do within these 3 points. Feel free to contact me should you need any help. I would suggest that you all meet during your free time at least twice(before some of you go overseas again)to complete everything. Remember that this is a privilege given to you, especially for the exploration portion so make the best use of it! And do a good one so that everything can be cleared smoothly.

So don't be like that...

Or you'll end up like this! (if you remember where you saw it)

Scouts Learning Trip to Hong Kong

Dear Parents/Guardians/Scouts,

My apologies for not being able to attend the briefing as i have something to attend to on that day. Anyway there are some important matters to update you all.

1. Just spoke to Mr. Ken on the phone and he informed me that the Scouts are to report to Terminal 3, NOT Terminal 2, at Row 10 area at 0700. I will be smsing all parents tomorrow to provide the final confirmation on the Terminal and Row No. So no worries.

2. A few Scouts failed to pass us your passports last Sat. Thus, a gentle reminder to bring your passports on the crucial day itself. We cannot afford to have any delays. Pls take note.

3. As for the arrival in Singapore on 12 Nov, parents may want to confirm the exact terminal online. Otherwise, u may give Ken a call at 97946085 a day prior to arrival.

Finally, I urge all to put on your best behaviour and let us strive to have a fulfilling trip in Hong Kong. Looking forward to the trip with you all.

Warm regards,
Mr. Lincoln Chan

Hong Kong Heritage Trail 2011

Greetings Scouts,

As the trip is getting closer, I would require all those who are attending the Hong Kong Trip to do some preparation (homework) before the trip.

Do some read up on Scouting history (both international and local). You can find the information online. During the trip, we will have some quiz about Scouting in patrol levels. Some of the questions that I will asking would be as follows:

a. What is the full name of our founder of the Scout movement?
b. Who was the father of Scouting in Singapore?
c. Where was the first World Jamboree held?
d. Which are the countries do not have Scouting in their country?
e. Name me the current Scout districts active in Singapore.

These are some examples that will be asked during the quiz. Please do some read up about it. The purpose for doing this read up is to equip you with the necessary knowledge as you are guys are wearing the World Scout badge. Definitely, you need to have some foundation and if you don't know anything about Scouting, something is definitely wrong!

Do take some time to read up about it. Remember, our Scout motto is "Be Prepared". Please do your homework as it is very important for your personal upbringing. Thank you.

Benjamin Sho
