Meeting Update

Dear Scouts,

There will be a meeting on Friday the 23rd November. Attendance will be taken and the meeting is compulsary.The details are as listed below:

Venue: School
Time: 7.45am-12.40pm
Attire: PT kit
Items to bring: Full Scout Uniform, 1.5 littres Sprite bottle.

All Scouts are to have their FULL Scout uniform during the meeting,those that fail to do so will be subjected to punishment. Scouts that have incomplete set of uniform are to purchase them by Friday. Scouts are advised to have a heavy breakfast before the meeting as lunch will not be provided.

Meeting Update

There will be a meeting on Saturday the 16th November. Attendance will be taken. The Details are below.

Time: 8.30am-11.15am
Venue: School (outside scouts den)
Attire: PT kit
Items to Bring: Full Scout Uniform, 1.5 littre bottle, ATC camp form and fees, Advance Hike Report.

All scouts are required to turn up for the meeting, please call your friends and tell them about the meeting. Please have your breakfast before the meeting as no food will be provided

Swimming Certs

All scouts are to bring their swimming certs on friday the 16th November, if you know how to swim but do not have a swimming certificate, we will be having a swim after the meeting to see if you really know ho to swim.If you do not know how to swim, please engage a swimming tutor or sign up for swimming lessons to obtain the Advance Scouts Standard.

Note: Those that are swimming on friday, please bring your swimming equipments.

Also remember to wear only school/scout T-shirts to identify yourself as a Gabrielite. Lunch will not be provided, so you are advised to have a heavy breakfast before the meeting.

Meeting Update

There is a meeting this week. It will be held in school on Friday, 9th November 2007.Attendance is compulsory and will be taken.

Attire: School/Crux T-Shirt

Time: 9am to 11am

Venue to Fall in: Outside the Scout's Den

Things to Bring: PT kit only

Please have your breakfast before attending as breakfast will NOT be provided. Those who are unable to turn up/feeling unwell, please submit an MC/letter (letter must have a valid reason) to the IC(s) during the next meeting.

Please be reminded that, your hair MUST be black (unless your natural hair colour is brown,red etc). Please dye you hair back to it's original hair colour otherwise you WILL NOT be allowed to attend meeting(s), camp(s) and/or other activities planned. Only wear school/crux t-shirt because you will not be allowed into school by the security guard if you do not wear something that identifies you as a Gabrielite.

Collection Of Advance Camp Fees and Consent Forms.
Advance Camp will commence on Monday 29 October. Tomorrow will be the last day for the collection of Consent Forms and Camp Fees. All scouts, regardless of whether you have handed in the forms and money, are to fall-in in front of the scout den directly after you are dismissed from school this friday 26 October for announcements and collection. Attendence is compulsory. Attendence will be taken.

ALL meetings are COMPULSORY! If you don't turn up for meetings, please submit your letter or MC to your PLs. Scouts without VALID REASONS will be mark zero for attendance. This will greatly affect your overall conduct for you report book

Apologies for not updating the blog & information about tomorrow's meeting (saturday 20/10/07)

To All Scouts


Firstly, i on behalf the whole scc, to apologise to all scouts for not updating the blog. Due to some misunderstanding, we are unable to update the blog in time. I hope that this will be the first and the last time happening. Our attendance has been drop tremendously since after exam. The solution we came up during today's meeting was that we will put a box near the window in the scout den. If any of the scouts are unable to attend meetings, we hope that you will kindly drop a note into the box as a form of notification. But we will still continue to call you guys and update the blog

Secondly, tomorrow there will be a meeting in the morning to all the way till afternoon. The meetings information are below:

TIME: 0800 - 1230
Attire: Full uniform with boots and pt kit
Venue to fall in: Outside scout den

Please note that scouts are strongly advise to have heavy breakfast before coming for meetings


Please also note that scouts are to hand in their consent form and camp fees for adv camp by tomorrow's meeting. There will be a second collection on Tuesday after school in the scout den.
The second collection is for those who are unable to hand in the form and fees by tomorrow AND those who are going to receive the forms tomorrow.

Scouts that are attending advance camp are to collect kindling and firewood for their backwoodsmen cooking.

Have Your Pick (of ATC Adventure Facilities)

First off, this year's Annual Training Camp (ATC) has been confirmed to be held on 5th - 8th Dec at Sarimbun Scout Camp.

Like last year, you guys as participates will have your say in some of the activities that will be carried out during the camp, namely the Adventure facilities by voting for which facilities you would like the Unit to book.

Sadly, there will be no kayaking this year because Mr Chan wants to save money as this year's earnings from Job Week and Donation Draw (our share) is about $2000 or less (I'm pretty sure its much less, maybe about $1500).

The original budget for this camp was $2000, which would not be enough for any adventure facilities at all. However we (VSL Gary and myself) were able to get him to increase the budget abit and allow you guys to have at least some adventure facilities.

Each Scout will get two votes and we will rank the facilities from highest to lowest and book them accordingly, based on availability and number of votes.

All adventure facilities are half-day long, same as last year. Your choices are as follows:
1. Rock Climbing Wall
2. Zipline
3. Challenge Valley
4. High Abseil
5. Challenge Poles
6. Challenge Ropes Course
7. Archery

The PLs will have to email me the results of the voting by this coming Wed. If there are people who do not give their votes by this dateline, sorry but too bad they've lost their chance to have a say in this.

So if your PL hasn't called you be sure to let them know your votes or hold your peace.

Up-coming Saturday Meeting

I have mentioned this before but for those of you who have forgotten or were not present, this coming Sat (8/9/07) will have a meeting.

The hike is an addition event which we periodically hold (like the Combine Act in March) so it an add on and a change from your usual training which is still important especially for the up-coming Advance Camp. Also there was already no meeting on Fri (31/8).

So check for further updates on up-coming meetings.

I will try to post up something regrading the hike within the next 2 days. I'm not feeling well and strangely tired.
