Cycling Expedition

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Please be informed that there are some things that your son/ward has to take note of before the commencement of the cycling expedition. He has to bring some important items for the expedition as well as to know some rules before going for the Unit Cycling Expedition. They will be briefed again in school before the commencement of the activity. Here are some of the pointers to take note of:

1. Bring 1.5L water bottle filled with water.
2. Cutlery
3. Poncho
4. Bring personal medications. (E.g. Inhalers for asthmatic patients)
5. Bring Scarf and Woggle.
6. Extra clothes and towel.
7. Manila ropes or nylon ropes (borrow from Scout den and to be returned after use)
8. Personal items (Wallets and handphone)
9. No bringing of hand-held games (E.g. PSP, Gameboy, Nintendo DS etc.)
10. At all times, follow instructions from Leaders. Disciplinary actions will be taken
on individuals that do not cooperate and will be sent home.
11. Water proof all items in Zip Lock bag in case of wet weather while cycling.
12. To prevent injury due to cumbersome attire and equipment, avoid wearing baggy outfit and loose articles like bracelets to avoid entanglement.
13. To prevent road accidents due to human error, cycle in a single file on the pavement whenever possible abreast with traffic and no horseplaying. Also, there shall be no tailgating and the gap between cyclists should be two bicycle lengths at the minimal. Beware of people and objects on the road/pavement when cycling to prevent falls and injuries.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Yours-In-Scouting,
AVSL Benjamin
