Sports Carnival 15 Sep Saturday
Dear all,
The Katong District Sports Day is an event on the Katong District calendar that aims to
bond all Scouts from different Scout Groups through games, enabling a social network that
will last beyond the event. Scouts will also recognize the importance of sportsmanship and
fair play.
Details of Katong District Sports Day 2012 are as follows:
Date: Saturday, 15th September 2012
Time: 9.00am to 12.30pm
Venue: Dunman High School
Games: Basketball (5 players + 3 substitutes); Soccer (7 players + 3 substitutes); Captain’s
ball (5 players + 2 substitutes); Relay (from the 25 participants). The first three games
will be played simultaneously while the relay game will be played after the three games
have been completed.

Additional meetings on 8 Sep and 15 Sep
Dear all,
we have added 2 more meetings on 8 Sep and 15 Sep.
8 Sept ~8-11am: Swimming test for Scouts in order to satisfy one of the criteria for their progress badges
15 Sept ~8am-1pm - : Sports carnival held at Dunman High. Transport will be provided. Participants will be selected and to be limited at 25. (More details will be disseminated on Friday).
It is a bit of a rush as there was no meeting last week due to Teachers' Day celebrations.

Meeting on Saturday, 8th of September
Dear scouts,
We are going to have an informal meeting on Saturday. We will be going to Serangoon swimming complex to clear your swimming for advanced scout standard. Please bring your swimming trunks, pt kit, goggles and some money. Have your breakfast and fall in opp school by 0800. You will be dismissed at around 1030-1100.

Fall in by 0800 outside the scout den. Please bring your pt kit, full u, sprite water bottle, scout record book, scout diaries, writing materials, 2 bags of kindling per patrol and some food.

Combined UG 1-star kayaking
Dear Sec 3 Scouts,
Just a quick reminder, the 1-star kayaking course will be held during the September holidays. Participants from Scouts will be split into 2 different groups, as follows:
03 - 04 Sept (Monday & Tuesday):

05 - 06 Sept (Wednesday & Thursday)

Course details:
Venue: Kallang Sea Training Centre (NCC).
Time: 1pm - 7pm
Note: No lunch will be provided, so so have something to eat before you report for the course. I will be waiting at Kallang MRT station at 1230pm on Monday and Wednesday, to bring you guys to the course venue.
